AMBAG is the designated Regional Data Center for the Census. An important part of this designation is to help public and private agencies and individuals with access to and an understanding of this information. This web site is designed to assist in accessing data from Census 2000. A wealth of information from the Census Bureau will be available to the public on a flow basis in a variety of formats over the next several years.
The AMBAG REGION CENSUS WEB SITE provides easy access to Census data for the AMBAG Region, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties, and Cities and Census Designated Places within those Counties. Data retrieval is organized by geography and by content. The web site data as of July 2001 includes Redistricting Data (population and race) and selected general characteristics on sex, age, race, and housing. This data can be retrieved with a few clicks on links to bring up AMBAG Quick Fact Files for most population, race and housing data, as well as one-page summaries of Profiles of General Characteristics for the AMBAG Region, and its counties and cities or as links to the Census Bureau's web site. Files are provided as PDF files for easy downloading and printing. Users will need to download a free copy of Acrobat Reader to view these files.
